IT WILL be A Darling Affair when everything vintage, pretty and fun takes over the Sunshine Coast in September.
Coast residents, Emily Tredrea, 25, and Carrie Rea, 32, two stay-at-home mums who love "a pretty party with a difference", have spent months organising the Coast's first vintage wedding and events fair - A Darling Affair.
Emily said a new breed of wedding expos was sweeping the country and the Sunshine Coast needed to get caught in the flow.
"The vintage and bespoke trend is spreading fast," Emily said.
"We are just two local ladies with a love for all things gorgeous and unique, so we put our heads and skills together to create the Coast's first vintage-inspired event."
While weddings would be a major focus of the fair, the girls said people were seeking elaborate and styled events for other occasions as well.
"A Darling Affair is a wedding and events fair to inspire and cater to all special functions and special kinds of parties like craft nights, Christmas in July, recipe swap night with bake-offs, high teas - anything where you can involve all the fun and prettiness of decorating," Carrie said.
The event will be held at the newly re-opened Plantation Room at the Big Pineapple.
The pair is now looking for vendors interested in showing their products or services at the event on September 8.
"We'd love to have around 50-60 vendors and anyone who works with hair and make-up, bridal, cakes, stationery, videography, kids parties, decorations and event planning is welcome to apply," Emily said.
The event will have prizes, competitions, a piñata bash, lemonade stand, beauty parlour, and a wedding fashion parade.
