WESTERN Sydney produced possibly the biggest upset in A-League history on Saturday night by downing champion Brisbane 1-0 for its first ever victory.

Mark Bridge scored the Wanderers' first-ever goal, in their fourth match, with a near post header from Yousouff Hersi's cross midway through the first half.

Aaron Mooy was unlucky not to put the Wanderers in front prior to Bridge's goal as he saw his 20-yard drive come back off both posts.

Brett Holman almost got Brisbane back on level terms before the interval as Ante Covic got a slight touch to his fierce drive which bounced back off the post.

This would have been extremely harsh on the visitors whose first-half dominance was illustrated by the eight corners they created against none for the Roar.
