THE Gold Coast could be back in the race for Adelaide forward Kurt Tippett.

Suns general manager of football operations Marcus Ashcroft yesterday told AFL Trade Radio if the trade to the Swans fell through as a result of the AFL's investigation into possible draft tampering through the contract Tippett signed in 2009, Gold Coast would re-evaluate whether it would pursue the key forward.

The investigation has implications for Adelaide, Tippett and his management company, Velocity Sports.

Crows chairman Rob Chapman has refused to guarantee the future of CEO Stephen Trigg who was involved in Tippett's contract negotiations
