RSPCA offers $5000 reward for alpaca slaying information
RSPCA Queensland is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to the conviction of those responsible for the brutal alpaca slayings at Caboolture High School earlier this month.
"We desperately want to help police solve this heinous crime," RSPCA Queensland CEO Mark Townend said.
"For the first time ever, we are actually prepared to offer a $5,000 reward for anyone who comes forward with information leading to their conviction."
"This was a premeditated and extremely brutal crime. One Alpaca died and the other had to be euthanased because of the extent of its injuries. Can someone explain what possible pleasure or gratification is gained by beating to death a defenceless animal? Did it make them feel tough? "
"The links between animal cruelty of this severity and subsequent violence to humans is well documented."
"At the very least the individuals responsible need psychiatric help. Would you want someone who could do this to a defenceless animal living near you and your family? I think not."
Anyone with any information can call Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000
