NEVER again will Renee Jenkins' alarm clock sound at 4.30am.

Since her seven-year-old daughter Inez "Nezi" Emery was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia at the beginning of the school holidays, they have caught buses and trains to get to weekly medical appointments in Brisbane.

But after today's bout of chemo, they can forget about the early starts and long haul to the city - the Maroochydore family has its first car, courtesy of Caloundra City Autos principal Ben Carreira.

Mr Carreira said he read about the family's plight in the Daily.

"I was quite touched by it because my father was diagnosed with leukaemia and passed away about seven years ago," he said.

"The story really touched my heart."

Ms Jenkins said having a car would make life so much easier.

"It's going to be so different when I don't have to get up at 4.30am."
