Mudpies excel at pottery

MUDPIES have taken out the top gongs at the Maleny Show.

Cathy Lawley, a Maleny potter, helped her Mudpies Children's Pottery class enter their works this year.

They were up against 22 other entries but the team took out the top prizes.

Rosie Hodges won first prize, Ruby Green was awarded second prize and Kelly Wilson scored third prize.

Grace Wilson and Kelly Schofields were awarded with an encouragement award.

Cathy said she was proud of her mudpies.

"I thought it was such a great effort from the children," she said.

"They worked so hard on making their pottery."

Cathy also took home two first prize and one third prize placing for her renowned sculptures.

Cathy will be running her popular Mudpies workshops over the winter school holiday break on July 3 and July 6. The four-hour lessons run from 9am - 2pm and cost $50 per student which includes clay, glazing, firings and lunch.
