Scott weighs in for world titles
MALENY'S Scott Wasson has booked his ticket to the World Powerlifting and Bench Press Championships in Slovakia next month.
Wasson qualified when he finished second in the senior men's competition at the Australia championships at Caloundra.
Wasson finished with a 250kg squat, 150kg bench press and a 285kg deadlift for a 685kg total.
"Both the squat and deadlift are competition personal bests," he said.
To prepare for the world championships, Wasson will be training 10 hours per week at the Performance Training Centre in Brisbane.
