Jets hoping to end winning drought against the Glory

DEFENDER Josh Mitchell is hoping the Newcastle Jets can tap into his inside knowledge in their bid to end a Perth hoodoo on Saturday night.

The Jets have struggled to beat the Glory in the west, with their only win from 10 attempts coming back in 2005.

But Mitchell, 28, a Newcastle junior before playing for the Glory for the past two years, reckons he knows how to get one over on his former teammates.

"I know through playing with them what they like and what they don't like," he said.

"What they don't like is teams who come to them and really take it to them.

"If we give them time and space they'll punish us."

Mitchell said he was confident the Jets could get a result after the club's best start to an A-League season.

He also dismissed the lengthy travel schedule as a reason why so many sides struggled to perform in Perth.

"I think it's more a mental thing," he said.

"You just have to go over there with the same attitude as any other game.

"The time difference and all that doesn't really matter in my opinion."
