Hard work makes best birthday
TWELVE weeks ago Heather Fuller started a journey to lose weight, improve her fitness and get healthy.
The Maleny High lab technician won the Tribal Training 12-week challenge competition in TRN and in the past few months has worked hard to achieve her goals.
Heather has lost 7kg and more than 15% of her body weight.
"At three weeks I was ready to give up," Heather said. "But I kept remembering why I was doing it," she said.
"My husband and I share the same birthday. This year on July 21 I turn 55 and he turns 56. I wanted to be a great birthday present for my husband and for myself.
"I feel so much better. I really enjoy the workouts now and I think the biggest change I have seen is in my health and my energy."
Tribal Training owner Jason Palmada said Heather was a worthy winner of the competition.
"Heather has impressed us with her consistency and never give in attitude," Jason said."When I first met Heather I thought she was much older than she actually was," he said. "She was carrying extra weight, had limited energy and almost no fitness or strength at all. She could barely run 50m without stopping or do even one push-up.
"Twelve weeks on I see a different person, not just physically but in attitude with a real zest for life." Heather will celebrate her birthday in Africa.
A win for Heather:
Lost seven kg (15 % of body weight)
Down two dress sizes
Can now run three km without stopping (from 100 m)
Can do over 20 push ups (from zero)
Has increased core strength
Has improved balance and stability
Has made exercise part of her life
Has implemented smarter eating to keep energy up and weight down
