Edenbridge to burn an effigy of Lance Armstrong
LANCE Armstrong's career has crashed and burned, and now the man himself is about to go up in smoke ... well, a 9m high effigy of him at least.
As part of Guy Fawkes celebrations across England each year, the town of Edenbridge burns an effigy of a celebrity who has fallen from grace - and this year the disgraced American cyclist has been chosen for the "honour".
The effigy comes complete with a sign that reads 'For sale, racing bike, no longer required".
Towns across Britain light bonfires and set off fireworks on November 5 each year to commemorate a failed plot by Guy Fawkes in 1605 to blow up the houses of Parliament.
