Calounda tennis boosted
TENNIS: The Caloundra Tennis Centre has made full use of state government funding with the installation of two new tennis courts this week.
The centre recently received over $31,000 as part of the state government's Gambling Community Benefit Fund to replace two grass courts with synthetic grass.
Member for Caloundra Mark McArdle congratulated the centre on its dedication to increasing membership and seizing the opportunity to upgrade its courts to facilitate social and competitive players on the Sunshine Coast.
"This centre really is the tennis hub of the Sunshine Coast," he said.
"With the future Caloundra South development just around the corner it's crucial for clubs and businesses to take the initiative now to recognise how they can benefit from people moving into the area.
